In 1951, Walter Scott Jr. acquired the Double 8 Ranch from the Richardson family, who had established it in the 1870s. The ranch, now in its third generation of Scott ownership, has maintained a lasting partnership with the Williams family. Over the course of nearly 70 years, the Scott and Williams families have made significant contributions to the ranching industry, natural resources, and the community. Despite being corporate-owned, the Double 8 Ranch is managed by Wyoming natives who deeply value and appreciate the land. Pres Williams’ initial foundation has paved the way for a family legacy, characterized by a strong connection to the land and the principles of honesty, character, integrity, faith, love, and loyalty.
